How do Breaks work within Rotageek?

Rotageek can import your break rules and apply them onto the system to always ensure there is a break within each shift if it is needed.

Rotageek would specify the length of the break based on the rules you provide.

We ask for the data to be sent in a specific format in minutes to get accurate data output. E.g. When a shift hits 361 minutes, a 60 minute unpaid break is given. This would mean that a shift has to be over 6 hours to receive this break.

These breaks can be paid or unpaid.

We can also offer the option of timed breaks where we can schedule these in for you on the system. We ask for the data to be provided in minutes with a range of time the break can fall into. E.g. When a shift is over 360 minutes, a 60 minute paid break is given. This break needs to fall within 120 minutes of the shift starting and before 120 minutes of the shift ending.

For timed breaks, these can be paid, unpaid or a mix of both.

Rotageek can also create breaks that differ for under 18s working if you offer longer breaks. We would need to ensure that you have provided us with the date of birth for employees to offer this.
