Authorised devices lets you control which devices can use the clock-in feature. This helps prevents unauthorised clock-ins and clocking in outside the location's geofencing by ensuring only approved devices can be used to clock in and out of the web application.

What you can do with this feature

  • Give specific users permission to approve (authorise) devices for Web Clock-In

  • Require authorisation for Web Clock-In across the company (on/off setting)

  • Authorise a device (the device you’re currently using), give it a name, and optionally restrict it to specific locations

  • Remove an authorised device (e.g., if a device is lost or stolen)

  • Search and filter the authorised device list by device name and location.

Note: This feature is available by assigning the "Authorise Devices" permission to a user's account, usually a store manager or a group admin.

Restrict Web Clock-in

  • Go to Admin Console > Company Settings > Find "Restrict clock-in to authorised devices" toggle > Switch On to restrict clock-in to authorised devices > Save Changes

Authorise a device

Important: You must be logged into Rotageek on the same device you want to authorise.

  • Log into Rotageek on the device you want to approve > Go to the Admin Console > Open Authorised Devices > Select Authorise this device > Enter a device name (e.g. “My Personal Laptop”) > Choose the location(s) the device applies to > Save

Delete an authorised device

Use this if a device is replaced, lost, or stolen.

Go to the Authorised Devices page in the admin console > Find the device in the authorised devices list > Select Delete > Confirm Deletion

Search and filter authorised devices

  1. Use the search bar and type the device name you're looking for.

  2. Click the "Filters" button > set the locations/clusters you'd like to show.
